Lent week 6 – All-age meditation

Lent Week 5 – New
This sixth week of Lent is one where we reflect on the new life that God brings into our hearts and bones. The readings for this week are moments in which God gives Ezekiel a picture of restoration for his people Ezekiel 37:1-14 and Jesus brings one of his best mates to life again, a brave move. John 11:1-45.
Our ‘Newness’ passage to spend time with is Psalm 130.

and think about how much Jesus cares for his friends, like you.
Psalm 130 (CEB)
A pilgrimage song.
I cry out to you from the depths, Lord—
my Lord, listen to my voice!
    Let your ears pay close attention to my request for mercy!
If you kept track of sins, Lord—
    my Lord, who would stand a chance?
But forgiveness is with you—
    that’s why you are honored.
I hope, Lord.
My whole being
hopes,
    and I wait for God’s promise.
My whole being waits for my Lord—
    more than the night watch waits for morning;
    yes, more than the night watch waits for morning!
Israel, wait for the Lord!
    Because faithful love is with the Lord;
    because great redemption is with our God!
He is the one who will redeem Israel
    from all its sin.

Reflection:

Invite the Holy spirit to assure you through this song today.
Listen to the hopes Jesus is praying for and waiting for with you.

All-age Action:
‘Because faithful love is with the Lord;’
There are so many ways that God is bringing new life to the world.
Take a moment each day this week to pray blessing and strength for an organization or person that are helping people, animals or the earth.
Listen out for any ways that you can encourage them and be a part of their life giving actions this Easter season.
